Frankly Coffee
One of the best things about living in British Columbia is its relaxed approach to breakfast. Although you’ll find plenty of cafes and coffee shops that reward early birds, you’ll also find spots like Frankly Coffee that see breakfast as an all-day affair.
This place offers its customers exceptional service, fresh food, and plenty of community spirit. Everything from its proteins to its veggies is packed with flavour, and the in-house bakers promise to have you salivating at the sight of the scones, squares, cookies, and muffins that are proudly displayed near the counter. If you’re looking for recommendations, the Oatmeal Coconut Cake and Banana Loaf are staple choices that shouldn’t be missed.
If you’re needing a coffee-to-go, the Americano or Latte are solid options. If you’d prefer to take your time and start your day at a

Scott’s Inn Family Restaurant
Located in the heart of downtown Kamloops, Scott’s Inn Family Restaurant has been a staple in the community for decades.
As you might expect from its name, this restaurant is entirely family-friendly, and it focuses on using local ingredients in all menu items. Although they’re open for breakfast, lunch, and dinner, this Kamloops restaurant is immensely popular with the brunch crowd – and it’s easy to see why!
For something classic, feast your eyes on the Traditional Breakfast menu. One of the most popular picks is Scott’s Hungry Man’s Breakfast; it’s not for the faint of heart, but the three eggs, two strips of centre-cut bacon, honey ham, sausage links, toast, and hash browns promise to set you up for success.
If you love a classic Eggs Benedict, the Chorizo Benny is a decadent take on the dish that’s served with grilled chorizo and perfectly poached eggs. Oh – and don’t sleep on their gloriously smooth omelettes either!
If you get here early, ask for a seat alfresco as you’ll get gorgeous views of downtown, and you can easily spend a couple of lazy hours people-watching!

Hello Toast
Perched on Victoria Street, Hello Toast is a reliable local hotspot that never fails to deliver when it comes to excellent service and bold flavours.
This place has been on the Kamloops food scene for over 20 years, making it one of the city’s most enduring breakfast hotspots. So, it probably comes as no surprise that we had to include it on our list of the best Kamloops restaurants!
This lively spot is as quaint and charming as its name, and if you visit on a typical weekend, you’ll find the place full of locals that consider the restaurant a home-away-from-home (thanks to its social atmosphere and wallet-friendly prices).
Although it’s always vibrant and bustling in here, you never feel rushed at any point. So, if you thought that these guys placed profit over the customer experience, you’d be sorely mistaken!
Their Gourmet Bennies menu is a total revelation, and we recommend adding the Chive-on-Benny to your list of dishes to try out. This Benny is served on toasted focaccia and topped with roast beef, caramelized onions, aged cheddar, and chives for a hint of freshness. As the portions are relatively large, you can save a few bucks by splitting your dish if you’d like.
To start your day off with a bang, why not try the spicy Cayenne in the Rain? This unique dish is served with 2 eggs, a slice of multigrain toast, melted cheddar and feta, and a hefty sprinkle of cayenne pepper. For a sweeter take on toast, try the decadent Strawberry Shortcake French Toast!
Don’t worry about rushing to get here by the way. As breakfast is served all day, you can easily meander through downtown before stopping in for a mid-afternoon bite.
What to order:
The Chive-On Benny, Cayenne in the Rain, or Strawberry Shortcake French Toast.

Cora Breakfast & Lunch
Cora Breakfast & Lunch had its start in Montreal, but this wonderful restaurant made its way over to Kamloops back in 2011. Since then, it’s been impressing locals with its ridiculously large portions, all-day breakfast dishes, and a few unique takes on the humble Belgian Waffle.
Speaking of waffles, you need to try the Bananas Waffle while you’re here; topped with bananas, custard, and a choice of gooey salted caramel sauce or cocoa-hazelnut custard, it’s a sinful dish that’s worth every calorie. If you’d prefer something healthier, forego the waffle entirely and order a Kale-Mango Smoothie Bowl with chia seeds and coconut.
For a hearty breakfast that’ll have you raring to hit the town’s local attractions, look no further than the Ode to Oatmeal which is served with a sinful Cora-style English cream and classic Canadian maple syrup. If you like to start your day with a caffeine kick, try their comforting speciality coffee. With everything from espresso to cafe lattes available, there’s something on the menu for every palate.
What to order:
The Bananas Waffle, Kale-Mango Smoothie Bowl, or the Ode To Oatmeal

Best Kamloops Pizza
BOLD Pizzeria
Those on the hunt for thin-crust pizzas and a laidback atmosphere will appreciate everything that BOLD Pizzeria has to offer. Proudly perched on Columbia Street, this is one of the Kamloops restaurants that’s all about premium ingredients, top-tier service, and cultivating a community vibe.
In our opinion, BOLD isn’t just any pizzeria as it truly pushes boundaries when it comes to using exciting toppings. Carnivores will find solace in the Average Joe which is topped with seasoned ground beef, ham, pepperoni, and mozzarella, but there are a few unique pies that deserve a second look. The Fungo Formaggio is a prime pick for vegetarians and oozes sophistication with its generous dose of truffle oil. If you’re not afraid to cross sweet with savoury, treat your tastebuds to the Peach & Prosciutto pizza.
If you fancy a sweet treat to round things off, order the Chef’s Cheesecake. Not only will you be able to choose from several different flavours that constantly rotate, but the dessert comes in a jar that you can take home with you as a souvenir!

Gyldis Pizza
If we’re being honest, there are times when only a gourmet pizza will do. When that time comes, you’ll want to head straight to Gyldis Pizza for a bite to eat.
Established in 2010, this wonderful eatery prides itself on a fresh and never frozen approach to its dough. The result? Fluffy and flavourful pizzas that are truly tough to beat. Each pizza is cooked individually in a stone oven, giving them an authentic char that screams “Neapolitan”. The ingredients list at this restaurant is extremely varied, and you’ll find pizzas topped with everything from creamy mozzarella to cured meats and spicy jalapenos.
Although the Meat Lovers Pizza is delicious, we suggest trying one of their more unique dishes like the Lonely Cowboy Pizza; topped with delicious steak strips, crisp onions, mushrooms, green peppers, and an incredible ranch sauce, the pie perfectly blends American and Italian cuisines for a flavour sensation that you’ll never forget. Oh – and don’t forget to order a side of incredible BBQ Wings or BBQ Ribs too!

Cordo Resto + Bar
If you value regional craft beers, wines by the glass, and great food, then Cordo Resto + Bar should be your first port of call when visiting Kamloops.
The restaurant itself has a rather fascinating name that reflects all that the owners intended to do here; derived from the word “Cordillero” which refers to parallel mountain geography, Cordo aims to prepare food in a manner that respects regional and seasonal ingredients. Pair this with their use of fresh herbs, classic cooking techniques, and wines from the Thompson Okanagan Region, and it’s easy to see why snagging a reservation at Cordo can feel like winning the lottery!
As soon as you walk through the doors at Cordo, you’ll be greeted by friendly and knowledgeable staff who aim to accommodate your every request. If the excellent wait staff weren’t enough to convince you to visit, the restaurant employs an expert team of mixologists who are constantly inventing innovative drinks for customers using house-made bitters and delicious infused syrups.
We were blown away by the Chef’s Specialities while we were here, and the Caramelized Squash Risotto and Local Rainbow Trout were just something else. However, we guarantee that you won’t be disappointed by a single item on this menu – so go nuts!

Offering a nuanced and modern take on the traditional steakhouse, you can relax and unwind in the restaurant’s elegant dining room while enjoying a truly remarkable steak or fish dish.
This Kamloops restaurant is regarded for its use of fine ingredients and subtle incorporation of global flavours. Always aiming to engage in table-side service where possible, this upscale spot takes you on a journey from the first sip of wine to the last spoonful of dessert.
The menu here is quite large, but you can’t go wrong with any of the Seasonal Features or steaks. ATLAS is renowned for its U.S.D.A Prime cuts, and all steaks are hand-butchered and aged for at least 40 days before being prepared in an immense mesquite-fired Josper oven. The focus here is on traditional flavours, noodles, and cutlets, and each dish is served with a divine house-made sauce that will simultaneously tickle every one of your tastebuds.
